Compliance examinations are the primary means regulatory agencies use to determine whether a financial institution is meeting its responsibility to comply with the requirements and proscriptions of federal consumer protection laws and regulations. Compliance examinations and visitations are conducted for a variety of a reasons, but always have the same purpose: to ensure bank policies and procedures are fully compliant with federal banking regulations.
