To identify the unique and critical challenges impacting minority depository institutions (“MDIs”) and to advocate for policies, programs, and initiatives that empower them to flourish and serve their local communities.
The Minority Bank Advisory Council (“Council”) consist of representatives from MDIs, as defined by the Federal Depository Insurance Corporation. The Council provides meaningful feedback, and advocates for targeted outcomes on issues specific to mission-oriented banks. They also provide diverse perspectives on issues, advocacy, education, and innovative solutions beneficial to all community banks.
The Council also maintains ongoing relationships with bank regulators, members of Congress and serves as a central resource of information. Their experience, expertise, and knowledge is essential to helping underserved communities.
