With Congress back to work this week, ICBA is encouraging community bankers to contact lawmakers in support of the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act and the ACRE Act.
Details: ICBA urges community bankers to use its Be Heard Grassroots Action Center to:
Encourage members of Congress to co-sponsor H.R. 2808 and S. 1467, the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act, which would limit mortgage trigger lead solicitations to mortgage applicants—stopping the harassment of customers by lenders that have no relationship to the applicant.
Contact members of Congress to ask them to include the Access to Credit for our Rural Economy (ACRE) Act (H.R. 1822/S. 838) in the upcoming tax legislation. The bill would exempt from taxation interest on loans secured by farmland and residential mortgages in towns under 2,500 population.
