ICBA testifying today on PPP, other SBA programs

ICBA is scheduled to testify before Congress at 10 a.m. (Eastern time) today on community bank leadership in lending under the Paycheck Protection Program and other Small Business Administration programs.

Witness: Robert Barnes, president and CEO of PriorityOne Bank in North Magee, Miss., will testify on behalf of ICBA. In addition to recapping community bank PPP leadership, he will express opposition to authorizing SBA direct lending under its 7(a) loan program.

Hearing: The House Small Business subcommittee hearing will provide an empirical review of the PPP’s effectiveness in preserving jobs and reaching underserved small-business owners.
