William Pulte was sworn in to a five-year term as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Pulte was appointed to head the agency by President Donald Trump, and the Senate last week voted to confirm the nomination.
Statement: “Safe and sound housing markets are the foundation of American homeownership, so I will be laser-focused on the safety and soundness of our regulated entities as we ensure that the dream of homeownership becomes a reality for as many Americans as possible,” Pulte said.
ICBA Support: ICBA offered support for Pulte’s nomination in a letter to the Senate Banking Committee, which recently voted to advance the nomination. ICBA cited Pulte’s deep experience in housing, housing finance, and revitalizing neighborhoods, which qualifies him to lead the FHFA to support the nation’s housing needs.
