ICBA testifying tomorrow on ag priorities

ICBA is scheduled to testify before Congress tomorrow on its farm bill priorities and other key proposals for the ag sector.

ICBA Witness: Verlin “Gus” Barker, president and CEO of First Community Bank in Newell, Iowa, is set to testify at a Senate Agriculture subcommittee hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. (Eastern time) tomorrow, May 4.

Grassroots: Meanwhile, ICBA is calling on community bankers to urge their members of Congress to include six key principles in this year’s farm bill. Community bankers can use ICBA’s Be Heard grassroots action center to contact their lawmakers on ICBA principles such as providing ample funding and maintaining a strong crop insurance program.

ICBA Letter: ICBA laid out its six principles in letters to the House and Senate agriculture committees earlier this year.
