Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey issued the following statement following the latest acquisition of a tax-paying bank by a tax-exempt credit union.

ICBA commended members of the House Financial Services Committee who voted to advance a slate of ICBA-advocated bills that support community banks and the local communities they serve.

The Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s funding structure, reversing the appellate court’s decision that held the CFPB’s funding violates the constitution’s appropriations clause.
