Tell SBA to Reconsider Harmful Proposal

ICBA is urging community bankers to use its Be Heard grassroots action center to tell the Small Business Administration to reconsider a proposed rule that could harm SBA small-business lending.

The proposed rule would limit lending under SBA Express Loan Programs by reforming standards on affiliations, fees, and personal resources. Together, the proposals would reduce access to capital for small businesses in local communities.

In a joint letter to the SBA led by Rep. Trent Kelly (R-Miss.), 31 House members expressed deep concern and reminded the agency that the proposal is not required by any law or congressional action.
