Ron Haynie is senior vice president of mortgage finance policy for the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA).

He provides leadership and guidance on all mortgage finance-related legislative and regulatory issues that affect community banks: government-sponsored enterprises, Federal Home Loan Banks, Federal Housing Finance Agency, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Veterans Affairs, USDA Rural Housing Service, and the mortgage rulemakings from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and other banking regulators.

Haynie is staff liaison for ICBA’s Large Community Bank Council, which focuses on issues affecting larger community banks.

Haynie has more than 40 years of experience in mortgage lending, secondary marketing and consumer banking. During his 20-year career at Freddie Mac, he held various positions in sales, mortgage-backed-security trading, credit policy and program development. Prior to joining ICBA in 2010, Haynie served as vice president of mortgage banking for Home Federal Bank, a community bank in Idaho.

Haynie holds a degree from the University of Virginia’s Graduate School of Retail Bank Management.
