Sam Mayper joins ICBA today as vice president, congressional relations based in our Washington, D.C. office. In this role, Sam will be responsible for advocating ICBA’s policy positions with key members of Congress and bank regulatory agencies.

Prior to joining ICBA, Sam worked at the American Bankers Association for seven years where he held numerous roles and was responsible for advocating ABA’s legislative priorities with members of Congress, monitoring hearings/markups, tracking legislation, and drafting congressional correspondence.

Sam began his career in government relations with the Men’s Health Network working House and Senate congressional offices on issues related to ACA preventative healthcare services and cancer research funding. Nearly ten years ago, Sam landed his first job in DC as a legislative aide to his hometown member of Congress, Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY-4), after interning with her office and the Hudson Institute’s Center for Political-Military Analysis.

Sam received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. During his freshman year, he played football for the F&M Diplomats.
