Report: GAO to examine CFTC staffing issues

The Government Accountability Office will examine staff levels at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission as it expands its role in regulating digital assets, according to a National Public Radio report.
Crypto Proposals: The CFTC this week announced proposals to form a regulatory framework for retail commodity transactions involving crypto assets. Following last month’s failed Clarity Act vote in the Senate, the CFTC issued rules to benefit crypto firms and software and CFTC Chairman Mike Selig said the agency would act on crypto issues with or without legislation.
