Brian Johnson nominated for CFPB director

President Donald Trump nominated Brian Johnson of Ohio to be Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for a five-year term.
About the Nominee: Johnson is an executive at Capital One. He previously served as CFPB deputy director and as policy director and chief financial institutions counsel at the House Financial Services Committee.
Background: If confirmed by the Senate, Johnson would succeed CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought, who was tapped to lead the agency last year while also serving as the head of the Office of Management and Budget.
