Trump officially nominates Warsh to lead Fed

President Donald Trump officially nominated Kevin Warsh to serve as Federal Reserve chairman. If confirmed by the Senate, Warsh would replace Jerome Powell in May and serve a four-year term.

Background: Trump in January announced that he was nominating Warsh, who served as a Fed governor from 2006 to 2011 and as an economic aide in George W. Bush’s administration.

ICBA View: In a national news release, ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey last month congratulated Warsh on his nomination.
