Scott Anchin is Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives and Policy for the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA). In his role, he supports the development and execution of ICBA's long-term strategic goals to inform policy direction and implementation. He also advocates for ICBA's policy positions before financial regulatory agencies and Congress and acts as an advisor to help guide key organizational decisions.
Before joining ICBA, Anchin held policy, strategy, and leadership roles at the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and Cleveland, where he developed payments regulation and policy, shaped the Federal Reserve's payments modernization initiatives, and led industry work groups to identify and solve payments issues. He also served as chief of staff and chief administrative officer for joint Federal Reserve and U.S. Treasury payments technology programs.
Earlier in his career, Anchin held policy roles at the White House Office of Management and Budget, Bloomberg LP, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Anchin has served on the board of directors and the Board Advisory Group of the U.S. Faster Payments Council, which works to advance safe, easy-to-use faster payments in the United States.
Anchin holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Syracuse University, a Master of Arts in political science and a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University, and a Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law Center.
