ICBA called on Congress to ensure a timely reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program that avoids unnecessary market disruptions. In a letter to congressional leaders, ICBA expressed support for House and Senate legislation clarifying that private flood insurance policies satisfy mandatory purchase requirements. The legislation (H.R. 1422/S. 563) was introduced in the House by Reps. Dennis Ross (R-Fla.) and Kathy Castor (D-Fla.) and in the Senate by Sens. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) and Jon Tester (D-Mont.). |
