With a new Congress and administration coming to Washington, it’s time for policymakers to free Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from government control to support the nation’s housing sector, according to a Main Street Matters blog post.
Outlook: In the blog post, ICBA’s Ron Haynie says the incoming Trump administration has indicated it wants to end the government control of Fannie and Freddie, which would require the Treasury Department and FHFA to work together to make it happen.
