Comments on the Fed's Proposal to Modernize Regulations for Mutual Holding Companies
ICBA sent comments to the Federal Reserve regarding its proposed rulemaking concerning regulatory modernization and relief for mutual holding companies. ICBA said it welcomed the proposed changes and urged the Fed to further expand mutual banks’ ability to access capital; coordinate with the FDIC, the OCC, and state banking agencies to create a unified approach to how regulators treat mutuals; and pursue reforms that strengthen the long-term viability of the mutual bank charter.
