Charles Yi is Senior Advisor to the President & CEO and Interim Chief of Regulatory Affairs for the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA). In this role he provides strategic guidance and interim leadership to ICBA’s regulatory team to advance ICBA’s advocacy agenda.
Prior to joining ICBA, Yi served as a senior executive at the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Previously, he was a Partner practicing banking law at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP. Yi also served as General Counsel at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Staff Director and Chief Counsel on the Senate Banking Committee, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Banking and Finance at the Treasury Department, and Counsel on the House Financial Services Committee.
Before practicing law, Yi served as an Armored Cavalry officer in the US Army for five years and was deployed to Bosnia as part of a NATO peacekeeping mission. Yi received his JD from Columbia Law School, MPA from Princeton University, MA in Business Administration from Bowie State University, and BS in Electrical Engineering and Nuclear Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
