Advances in information technology have enables companies to collect,
compile, analyze and deliver data around the world much more quickly and
cheaply that ever before. These technological advances have also brought
new challenges to protecting information privacy. The American public
has shown strong concerns about the privacy of its personal information
– buying habits, medical records, personal and financial information, to
name just a few. With this in mind, this course presents the
fundamentals on privacy regarding the use of personal information that
is obtained from customers and consumers in the course of running a
business and more specifically, within a financial institution.
