Meet your presenters and fellow participants. This brief opening session will provide an overview of the program, learning objectives, and an opportunity for bankers to introduce themselves and share their institution's type, asset size, and CRA responsibilities.

CRA Foundations and Regulatory Framework

Build a strong foundation in CRA by exploring the purpose of the regulation, its history, regulatory agencies, potential ratings, and the consequences of noncompliance. Participants will also learn how CRA requirements vary by asset size and gain a practical understanding of the populations and communities CRA is designed to serve.

Assessment Areas, Geographies, and CRA Loan Products

Learn how to define, evaluate, and maintain compliant CRA assessment areas. This session covers low- and moderate-income borrowers and geographies, geocoding, census tract analysis, qualifying loan categories, and practical exercises to help bankers identify CRA-eligible opportunities within their markets.

Public Files, Disclosures, and the Small Bank Lending Test

Gain a practical understanding of CRA public file requirements, branch disclosures, public evaluations, and complaint management. The session also provides an overview of the Small Bank Lending Test, including loan-to-deposit ratios, assessment area concentration, borrower and geographic distributions, and examiner expectations. Interactive case study discussions will reinforce key concepts.

Building and Managing an Effective CRA Program

Translate regulatory requirements into a sustainable CRA program. Learn how to establish effective CRA governance, assign ownership, prepare for growth into the Intermediate Small Bank category, leverage CRA management tools, and develop meaningful self-assessments and performance context documentation. The session concludes with practical strategies to strengthen exam readiness and long-term CRA performance.

Program Wrap-Up and Q&A

Time permitting, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions, discuss common challenges, and identify next steps for enhancing their institution's CRA program.

  • A substitute registration will be accepted. Please notify ICBA Education if registration needs to be changed.
  • If registration is cancelled more than 30 days prior to the event start date, you will receive a full refund.
  • If cancellation is within 30 days prior to the event start date, 20 percent of the registration fee paid will be deducted for costs.
  • No refunds will be issued once the bank has received event materials or after the event start date.
  • If the program is canceled by ICBA, ICBA’s liability is limited to the registration fee.

Continuing Professional Education Credit (CPE) Requirements

To receive full CPE credit for ICBA livestream events you must meet the following requirements:

  • Enter your full name when joining the event in Zoom. Your Zoom session must display your full name and match the registration.

  • Attend the livestream session with camera on for the duration of the session. NOTE - If attending by phone audio only, no CPE will be awarded due to participant’s inability to respond to poll questions.

  • Participate in all group activities and breakout rooms.

  • Answer all poll questions displayed during the session. If you are unable to answer the poll questions within the poll feature, submit your answer in the chat.

  • In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsor, CPE credits have been granted based on a 50-minute hour.
