Chris Lorence is group executive vice president, member engagement & strategy and chief marketing officer for the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA). He has more than 25 years of management experience and is expert in collaborative enterprise leadership, business development, member engagement strategies and organizational transformation.
Lorence works with the executive leadership team to develop and drive ICBA’s strategic vision by leading the teams responsible for vendor relations, state relations and member relations. As chief marketing officer, he leads the organizations integrated marketing and communications teams. In addition, Lorence oversees ICBA’s digital and print publications and is executive editor of the organizations award-winning national magazine, Independent Banker®.
Prior to joining ICBA in 1999, Lorence was chief operating officer of a community-based financial organization. In 2014, Forbes named him one of the Top 50 CMOs in social media and he was named one of the top 100 CMOs on social media by Social Media Magazine. Lorence earned a BS in marketing from Walden University.
