Chris Lorence is group executive vice president, member engagement and strategy for the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA). He has more than 20 years of management experience in the financial services community and is expert in collaborative enterprise leadership, business development and organizational transformation.
Lorence works with the executive leadership team to develop and drive ICBA’s strategic vision. He leads the integrated marketing and communications team which encompasses advocacy, brand and issues management, social media integration, mobile and digital marketing, the in-house recording studio and press relations. In addition, Lorence oversees ICBA’s digital and print publications, including its award-winning national magazine, Independent Banker®.
Prior to joining ICBA in 1999, Lorence was chief operating officer of a community-based financial organization. In 2014, Forbes named him one of the Top 50 CMOs in social media and he was named one of the top 100 CMOs on social media by Social Media Magazine. Lorence earned a BS in marketing from Walden University.
