President Donald Trump asked Congress to pass a supplemental spending package that includes $11 billion to support U.S. farmers.
Details: As part of an $87.6 billion appropriations request to Congress to help with the cost of the war in Iran, the administration asked lawmakers for $10 billion in temporary economic assistance for row and specialty crops planted in crop year 2026 and $1.1 billion to help Florida's agricultural producers after crippling storms last winter.
Recent Aid: The administration announced a $12 billion aid package in December. The Agriculture Department in April issued a second Supplemental Disaster Relief Program payment to eligible producers and extended the deadline for applications.
