Letter to CFPB in Support of Revisions to the 1071 Small Business Lending Rule
ICBA sent a letter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in support of its proposed revisions to the small business lending rule under Section 1071 of the Dodd-Frank Act. ICBA said it supports the CFPB’s efforts to recalibrate the scope of covered institutions, covered credit transactions, and data collection requirements. ICBA added that, if finalized, the proposal would better align the rule with the realities of small business lending, reduce unnecessary burden on community banks, and continue to meet the statute’s fair-lending objectives.
