With National Agriculture Week running through Friday, ICBA is calling on community bankers to advocate support for newly reintroduced legislation to exempt from taxation interest income on farm real estate and rural mortgage loans.

Details: Introduced by Reps. Ron Kind (D-Wis.) and Randy Feenstra (R-Iowa), the Enhancing Credit Opportunities in Rural America (ECORA) Act (H.R. 1977) would promote lending and support better rates and terms in rural communities.

Taking Action: Community bankers can use ICBA's Be Heard grassroots action center to urge their members of Congress to support ECORA.

More: The National Ag Day virtual celebration is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. (Eastern time) tomorrow, March 23. The free event and #AgDay21 hashtag recognize the contributions of U.S. agriculture.
