CFPB reports consumer COVID-19 complaints


The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau reported on more than 8,000 complaints it received from January through May that mention the coronavirus or related terms. Mortgage, credit card, and credit or consumer reporting complaints top the list.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau reported on more than 8,000 complaints it received from January through May that mention the coronavirus or related terms. Mortgage, credit card, and credit or consumer reporting complaints top the list.

In 55 percent of mortgage complaints, consumers cited struggling to pay the mortgage, while most credit or consumer reporting complainants identified incorrect information on their credit report as the issue.
