In the first episode of Communities of Innovation, an ICBA Podcast, ICBA Chief Innovation Officer Charles Potts sits down with Coastal Community Bank CEO Eric Sprink to discuss how bank leadership can advance a new Banking as a Service model.
For the uninitiated, Banking as a Service or BaaS, is an end-to-end model that allows third parties to connect with bank systems directly via API so that they can offer digital products, payments, loans, and insurance at the point of need rather than as a standalone product. As an increasing number of nonbanks enter the financial services sector, BaaS offers a way for community banks to remain competitive and improve the customer experience.
Besides sharing his personal experience with BaaS, Sprink discusses community bank milestones for partnering with fintechs and BaaS implementation. Listen to the Communities of Innovation podcast on the ICBA website or anywhere you listen to podcasts such as iTunes, Spotify, or Amazon Music.
