Day One—Auditing Issues

With the fog of the January mortgage reform require-ments lifting a little, community banks are still facing numerous lending compliance challenges. Stay one step ahead of the regulators as we discuss the latest lending compliance issues facing community banks. Topics include:

  • Plotting a course for compliance with the integrated mortgage disclosure requirements effective August 2015
  • Responding to the 2014 Interagency HELOC Guidance

Day Three—Deposit Compliance/BSA

Deposit operations and BSA best practices continue to change at a pace that requires compliance and operational personnel to remain focused and in touch with peers. Not to be overlooked, this deposit and BSA/AML session will focus on current regulatory changes and evolving industry best practices. Highlights include:

  • Overdraft practices in light of regional regulatory guidance and recent enforcement actions
  • Mobile Banking: What are the compliance implications?
  • A discussion on new UDAAP exposures within the deposit operations areas
  • Newly published “SAR Stats” from FinCEN
  • Virtual currency concerns
  • Plus a “Fact or Fiction” session on current deposit and BSA compliance topics including beneficial ownership, banking high risk customers such as marijuana-related businesses and third party payment providers, AML monitoring red flags, social media, bank acquisition and compliance concerns, and much more!

Day Four—IT Security Risk and Realities

IT remains a high risk component for community bank internal auditors, compliance, security and technology officers. The dramatic rise in cyber-crime is putting pressure on both banks and their customers. This session will discuss current issues involving the most sensitive IT security areas and how to most effectively mitigate and manage risk. Topics will include:

  • Advanced network and internet security techniques, phone security, advanced physical security issues
  • Practical risk assessment techniques (a tool will be provided)
  • Current state of malware risks and detection and practical incident handling techniques
  • Vendor management issues
  • Cyber security/cyber crime/FFIEC emphasis
