Current Issues/Annual Certification Conference

September 22-25, 2014; Minneapolis, MN
October 20-23, 2014; Phoenix, AZ

Day One—Auditing Issues

It’s essential that internal auditors, external auditors, legal counsel, operations managers and bank managers stay abreast of auditing issues that are crucial to the effective management of your bank. The content of this conference is determined by top issues from the Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor annual survey.

Day Two—Lending Compliance Issues

Lending compliance is in the midst of monumental transition following the mortgage reform and regulatory overhaul. Keeping up with technical changes, examiner expectations and industry best practices is challenging for all community bankers. This conference is designed to give you updated information on critical and timely compliance issues. The content is determined by topics taken from the Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer annual survey.

Day Three—Deposit Compliance/BSA

Deposit operations and BSA best practices continue to change at a pace that requires compliance and operational personnel to remain focused and in touch with their peers. This fast paced program will cover new regulatory requirements from Dodd-Frank and industry knowledge that supports development of deposit growth in a compliant manner.

Day Four—IT Security Risk and Realities

IT remains a high risk component of the audit plan for community bank internal auditors. The dramatic rise in cyber-crime is putting pressure on both banks and their customers. This session will discuss current issues involving the most sensitive IT security areas and how to most effectively mitigate and manage risk. This session will include hands on demonstrations from technical penetration testers who will be available for Q&A sessions. Topics will include advanced network and Internet security techniques, mobile payments and phone security, advanced physical security issues, practical risk assessment techniques (a tool will be provided), current state of malware risks and detection and practical incident handling techniques.
