ICBA Reinsurance’s Steve Ello Appointed to ASAE Business Services Inc. Board of Directors

Washington, D.C. (October 13, 2011)—Stephen Ello, president and CEO of ICBA Reinsurance, the captive reinsurance company of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), was appointed vice chair of the ASAE Business Services Inc. (ABSI) board of directors at its most recent meeting in St. Louis. ABSI is the business unit that manages the endorsed business solutions, career services, and the for-profit insurance subsidiary of ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, located in Washington, D.C.

“I look forward to continuing to serve my profession through ASAE and ABSI in my role as vice chair for 2011-12,” Ello said. “It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to assist ABSI in reviewing and developing products and services that provide non-dues revenue to other trade and professional associations, much how ICBA Reinsurance provides revenue to our community bank members.”
Ello has been on the ABSI board since 2007.  His appointment to the board of directors is based on his 20 years of experience in association management and for-profit subsidiaries, particularly in insurance and financial services.  Much of his professional success has been well demonstrated in his ability to develop successful association affinity programs.
“A board member since 2007, Steve has been a valuable contributor to the ABSI board and the development and growth of the ASAE Insurance Company,” said ABSI President Dixie Arthur.  “He brings a unique blend of experience in both the affinity program and for-profit insurance sides of our profession.”

Ello is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.   He has completed numerous association management courses, and the St. John’s College Executive Seminar series. Additionally, he serves on the advisory board of Redux, an online literary journal.
