Wisconsin Banker Named Chairman of ICBA Reinsurance Board of Directors
Washington, D.C. (July 11, 2007)—ICBA Reinsurance, a subsidiary of the Independent Community Bankers of America, announced the election of John "Gof" Thomson, chairman of Bank of New Glarus, Wis., as chairman of the ICBA Reinsurance board of directors.
"We are pleased to have Gof as the chairman of the ICBA Reinsurance board of directors," said Stephen Ello, president and CEO of ICBA Reinsurance. "Gof is a long-time member of ICBA Reinsurance. Prior to assuming the role of chairman, Gof served as treasurer of ICBA Reinsurance for two years. He has been actively involved in ICBA throughout his tenure with the trade association. His broad knowledge of the banking industry and his insights on the challenges facing community bankers make Gof a tremendous asset to the company."
As an ICBA member, Thomson has served on the Long-Term Planning, Bank Services and Policy Development committees. In addition to his work with ICBA Reinsurance, Thomson currently serves on the ICBA Regulation Review Committee.
The Bank of New Glarus opened its doors on October 30, 1893.
