ICBA Announces Alliance with Compushare to Launch ICBA Strategic Technology Solutions
Offers community banks IT management solutions
Washington, D.C. (June 20, 2013)—The Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA) today announced a strategic alliance with Compushare to launch ICBA Strategic Technology Solutions, which will leverage Compushare’s C3 platform to bring the only fully hosted cloud computing solution designed specifically for community financial institutions to community banks across the country. ICBA Strategic Technology Solutions will also include Compushare’s enterprise-class suite systems management and security services.
“ICBA is pleased to offer this valuable strategic alliance to our members so that they can easily move to the cloud and thereby ensure resiliency and compliance in a cost-effective manner,” said Cindy Blankenship, chairman of the ICBA Services Network and vice chairman/chief operating officer of Bank of the West, Grapevine, Texas. “Compushare’s Cloud Computing (C3) platform enables banks to access data and legacy financial applications securely online for round-the-clock availability on any device, while also achieving significant operational efficiencies, such as ease of adding or modifying user access, performing software upgrades and managing granular access controls around access to critical data.”
“The decision to expand ICBA’s Preferred Service Provider (PSP) relationship with Compushare was easy because of feedback from our community bank members. Our members are looking to adopt solutions that will allow them to keep pace with changing standards while maintaining the data security and reliability required by financial institutions,” said Dan Clancy, executive vice president and director of strategic alliances for the ICBA Services Network. “Since the beginning of our PSP alliance, which exceeded our initial expectations, we have seen the significant adoption of cloud computing by community banks. We look forward to demonstrating the value of cloud computing to all of our members.”
Compushare’s cloud computing platform allows community banks to move all of their local applications to a secure and redundant cloud environment, eliminating the headache and costs of maintaining a local infrastructure. C3 offers a library of hundreds of banking and business applications, allowing banks to easily adopt state-of-the-art technology with all the necessary security, business continuity and compliance guaranteed to meet all of their business needs. Through Compushare C3, applications and data are available securely through any Internet connection, giving the institution the complete flexibility to better service their clients.
By moving IT resources to the cloud, community banks are able to improve efficiencies in technology management by taking advantage of the unique features of online computing. Community bankers using cloud computing systems are able to remotely access documents and programs, leading to increased operational efficiency and resiliency. Routine maintenance, such as installation of patches and upgrades, is done automatically to ensure that all users are working with the most up-to-date software, without any maintenance work on individual desktop computers or mobile devices. Community banks are also able to reduce technology expenses through cloud computing, with no need to replace or invest in additional hardware assets.
“The economic and regulatory environment demonstrates how important it is for banks to focus on their business without having to worry about investing in and maintaining technology assets,” said Romir Bosu, Compushare CEO. “Our solutions allow ICBA member banks to do just that. Compushare is the first in the financial industry offering a category-defining solution so community banks can realize all of the benefits the cloud can deliver. We have both benefited from the selection as an ICBA Preferred Service Provider, and we’re excited to expand our ICBA relationship and take it to the next level with ICBA Strategic Technology Solutions.”
