ICBA Independent Banker Magazine Receives Top Honor in International Competition
Washington, D.C. (Nov. 9, 2007)—The Independent Community Bankers of America's (ICBA) flagship magazine, ICBA Independent Banker, won three outstanding achievement awards - including the highest honor for content and design - in the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals' 2007 MarCom Creative Awards. The association's daily electronic news bulletin, ICBA NewsWatch Today, in its second year of publication, received an honorable mention.
"This is richly deserved recognition for ICBA and the community banking industry's premier magazine, ICBA Independent Banker, and for ICBA NewsWatch Today," said Karen Tyson, ICBA senior vice president and director of communications. "ICBA is fortunate to have a talented and creative publications team who works hard to deliver news and information for community bankers in an outstanding way."
ICBA Independent Banker received a:
- Platinum Award for an association magazine for the September 2007 issue. This is the highest honor for content and design. The issue contains articles featuring exceptional community bank marketing campaigns and technologies ushering banking into the digital age, among other timely features.
- Gold Award in the best writing/feature category for the March 2007 article, "In Sync" by Kelly Pike, ICBA assistant director of publications. The article explains how community banks harmonize retail delivery strategies with physical brick and mortar and virtual bank branches.
- Gold Award for magazine cover design for the June 2007 cover. The cover features an emblem celebrating "ICBA's Top 20 Leading Community Bank Earners."
ICBA NewsWatch Today received an honorable mention in the e-newsletter category for look, content and usability.
Sponsored by the Association of Marketing & Communications Professionals, the MarCom Creative Awards is an international competition for marketing and communications professionals involved in the conception, writing and design of print, visual and audio materials. Last year, ICBA Independent Banker won two awards in the competition.
