FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jones Joins ICBA as Senior Legislative Counsel

Washington, D.C. (February 6, 2007)—The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) announced that Ike Jones has joined ICBA as senior legislative counsel.

"Ike has been in the banking arena for a long time and has an extensive depth of knowledge and breadth of experience that few can match," said Karen Thomas, ICBA executive vice president and director of government relations. "ICBA is fortunate to have him working on our behalf with Congress on legislation to help community banks and the communities they serve."

Jones has served the banking industry in a variety of ways having served as legislative counsel in both the private sector and in government. He has worked on a variety of banking issues including regulatory relief, deposit insurance reform, taxes, agriculture and farm credit and Federal Home Loan Bank issues.

Jones was a Democratic counsel to the House Financial Services Committee from 2000 to 2002. He served as legislative counsel for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Resolution Trust Corporation, Office of Thrift Supervision, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board and America's Community Bankers, and was a tax lobbyist for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Prior to coming to Washington, D.C. in 1989, Jones served as an assistant attorney general for the State of Louisiana.
