ICBA’s Jorde Honored by U.S. Banker Magazine

Named one of the 25 Women Bankers to Watch

Washington, D.C. (October 2, 2006)—The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) congratulates ICBA Chairman Terry J. Jorde, president and CEO of CountryBank USA, Cando, N.D., on being named one of the 25 Women Bankers to Watch by U.S. Banker Magazine.

"Terry is especially deserving of this recognition," said Camden R. Fine, ICBA president and CEO, "Not only is she the first woman to serve as ICBA chairman, but the high profile issues of this past year have made Terry the voice for the community banks of this nation. Her leadership and commitment to our industry is making the difference for community bankers on issues important to them. ICBA congratulates her on this remarkable achievement."

A national leader within the banking industry, Jorde has been recognized as an advocate for community banks throughout her career. The American Banker newspaper named her one of the Top 40 Bankers under Age 40 and Northwestern Financial Review named her Woman Banker of the Year when she was 33 years old. In July 2006, she was featured in Business Watch magazine as one of North Dakota's top business innovators. She is frequently quoted in national trade publications and has made presentations to numerous state and federal symposiums, testified before the U.S. Congress and spoken to thousands of bankers in nearly every state in the country.

U.S. Banker's annual ranking of the most influential women in banking recognizes individuals whose pursuit of excellence, leadership and professional performance is redefining the financial services landscape. The ranking is considered by industry players as an indicator of outstanding achievement and influence among senior-level women executives. Jorde was selected from over 5,000 qualified executives who were considered this year.

In conjunction with the honor, U.S. Banker and SourceMedia are hosting the 2006 Most Powerful Women in Banking Gala at The Pierre, 2 East 61st Street, New York, N.Y., on October 23.
