Derek B. Williams is treasurer of the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA), the only national trade association that exclusively represents community banks.
President and CEO of Century Bank & Trust in Milledgeville, Ga., Williams has served ICBA and the community banking industry for many years. He is a member of the ICBA Executive Committee and the board of directors. He also serves on ICBA’s Policy Development Committee and the Subcommittee on Safety and Soundness.
He was chairman of the Regulation Review Subcommittee and is a member of the ICBA Federal Delegate Board. He previously served on ICBA’s Lending Committee and the FHLBank Task Force. He also served as a state delegate for Georgia on ICBA’s Federal Delegate Board. Williams also served three years on the FDIC Community Bank Advisory Committee.
Williams is past-chairman of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia, where he currently serves as a board member. Active in his local community, Williams is treasurer of the Milledgeville Chamber of Commerce and is also on a number of other civic and community boards. He has been a Rotarian for the past 18 years. He is a former chairman of the American Cancer Society of Muscogee County in Columbus, Ga.
Williams received his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Georgia. He is also a graduate of Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.
He lives in Milledgeville, Ga., with his wife, Karen.
