Flood insurance extension passes

The Senate passed a short-term spending package that includes a one-year extension of the National Flood Insurance Program. The vote sent the $1.4 trillion package to President Trump to be signed into law ahead of the midnight deadline.

ICBA recently urged congressional leaders to extend the NFIP ahead of the deadline so policymakers have time to pursue needed reforms to improve flood map accuracy, increase mitigation, and address affordability.
