Susan Sullivan Joins ICBA as Vice President, Congressional Relations

Washington, D.C. (March 6, 2020) 
— The Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA) today announced that Susan J. Sullivan has joined as vice president of congressional relations. In this role she will help advocate ICBA’s pro-growth regulatory relief agenda for community banks as outlined in its Community Focus 2020 regulatory and legislative policy platform.

“ICBA is thrilled to have Susan join our team,” ICBA Group Executive Vice President of Congressional Relations and Strategy Paul Merski said. “Her vast experience will be a tremendous asset to the work and advocacy goals of ICBA. We look forward to deploying her expertise on behalf of community banks across the country.”

Sullivan spent nearly 10 years with the American Financial Services Association, where she most recently served as director for congressional and political affairs. In this role, she worked to develop strategy and advocate for priority banking and consumer lending issues in Congress.

Sullivan has a Bachelors of Arts in international relations and political science from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., and is a certified consumer credit compliance professional.
