Elk River, MN 9.28.18 – The American Bankers Association (ABA) announced the winners of the third annual ABA Bank Marketing Video Awards this week during the Bank Marketing Conference in Baltimore. The Bank of Elk River was one of four banks honored at the conference and took home the “Best in Show” award for its video spotlighting how a local family collaborated with The Bank of Elk River to build their dream home. The video was also the winner in the category for banks with less than $500 million in assets.
This national award—open to U.S. banks of every size—recognizes the ever-increasing power of visual storytelling. “Video marketing has proven to be a powerful way to boost conversations and build relationships with consumers,” said Jim Edrington, ABA’s chief member engagement officer. “Bank marketers excel in this discipline, and this year’s winners continued the trend of raising the bar even higher.”
A prestigious panel of 90 Certified Financial Marketing Professionals across the nation scored over 400 video entries based on production value, creativity, and message. The six top-scoring videos for each asset category were then posted online for public voting in July. With over 13,000 votes, the Bank of Elk River was chosen as “Best in Show,” beating banks significantly larger than theirs.
“We are honored and humbled to have received these two awards. I was so surprised when I heard our name called for Best in Show,” said Julia Schreifels, Assistant Vice President and Director of Marketing. “My objective was first and foremost to feature our customers in our video series and share their story about how interacting with us has made a difference in their lives. Our bank has been here for over 130 years and was the first bank in Elk River. We’ve come a long way since then and incorporating video commercials that feature valued customers like Sandy and Jeremy Rebrovich from Ideal Health is a great way to feature our wonderful community which now is being recognized nationally.”
