Old Dominion National Bank Names Sushil Clarence as Executive Vice President of Government and Technology Banking Group

TYSONS CORNER, Va., August 2, 2017 -- Old Dominion National Bank announced the appointment Sushil Clarence as Executive Vice President responsible for the growing bank’s government and technology banking group.

Clarence, who joins Old Dominion from Cardinal Bank, recently acquired by United Bank, will focus on serving commercial clients primarily in Greater Washington’s government contracting and technology industries.  He will be based in Old Dominion’s executive offices in Tysons Corner.

Sushil has 30 years of financial services experience in the region, the last 13 of which he spent with Cardinal Bank, which was acquired by United Bank in April of this year, as an Executive Vice President and Manager of the company’s Government and Technology Group. Prior to that, Sushil was a Senior Vice President and City Executive for BB&T from 1998 to 2003. From 1990 to 1995, he was a Senior Vice President at Columbia First Bank in Arlington, Va. A lifelong Washington D.C. metro banker, Sushil began his banking career in 1985 with the National Bank of Washington.  

The Rockville, Md. resident earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota and M.B.A. in Finance from the University of North Texas. He also earned a B.S. in Physics from Osmania University in India.
