The IRS launched new resource pages to help eligible tax filers and non-filers receive their Economic Impact Payments.
The resources, which have reportedly experienced delays due to heavy demand, allow non-filers to ensure they receive their payment and filers to check their payment status, confirm their payment type, and enter bank account information for direct deposit.
Treasury began distributing the first tranche of ACH payments on Friday, with an effective date of April 15. Subsequent files will be sent weekly.
ICBA this week issued consumer-facing frequently asked questions on the EIP stimulus payments with answers on how and when these payments are going out and other details. ICBA has also updated its frequently asked questions for community bankers with new information on the EIPs and other issues.
Separately, the Treasury Department has released FAQs about how EIPs relate to delinquent debts, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau released its own guide with answers to consumer questions, and Nacha has published FAQs on ACH EIP payments.
