ICBA is reminding consumers that community banks put the “community” into banking and are here to serve the needs of their customers and communities throughout the coronavirus pandemic and beyond. In a national news release, ICBA encouraged consumers who have questions about their finances to reach out to their local community bank, noting that community banks are relationship lenders with strong community ties.
The release followed recent consumer reminders that FDIC-insured deposits are safe and backed by the full faith and credit of the federal government. ICBA also last week released three customizable news releases that community banks can distribute in their local communities to reassure consumers amid the coronavirus outbreak.
