As lawmakers negotiate a defense spending bill, community bankers can advocate language providing military service men and women access to competitive banking services, ICBA's Amy Forester Roberti writes in a new blog post.
The Main Street Matters post calls on community bankers to use ICBA's Be Heard grassroots action center
to support a provision in the bill extending to on-base banks the “rent-free” benefits credit unions receive.
"With our soldiers and veterans supporting choice in financial services, why are credit unions opposing it?" Roberti writes.
