Kathleen Kraninger’s ICBA-supported nomination for director of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection advanced toward a final vote next week. The Senate advanced the nomination in a 50-49 procedural vote.
ICBA this week called on senators to vote to confirm Kraninger. In a letter to lawmakers that Senate Banking Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) quoted on the Senate floor ahead of the procedural vote, ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey said Kraninger understands the critical role that community banks serve in supporting local prosperity.
