Through FIS, banks can take advantage of a risk-free revenue stream from one of two merchant services options: the Agent Program or the Referral Program.

The Agent Program

The Agent Program best suits banks that want to handle sales and service for their merchant customers. Agent banks have a designated Merchant Client Relations expert ready to provide support every step of the way. The program:

  • Allows banks to manage the sales and customer service processes with their merchant customers
  • FIS holds the contract and all associated liability for acquiring services

The Referral Program

The Referral Program gives banks compensation for referring existing merchants or merchant prospects to FIS. FIS handles all sales and support and acts as a full-service provider. Referral partners have a dedicated FIS Sales Account Manager as their personal point of contact. With the program:

  • FIS holds the contract and all associated liability for acquiring services
  • Bank clients are not accountable for liability, expenses or day-to-day responsibilities for supporting merchant accounts
  • FIS provides merchant support, continuing the focused and friendly relationship you have established with your customers
  • Monthly residual revenue stream
  • New merchant account and referral targets managed for each branch
  • Quarterly strategy checkpoints and sales updates with FIS staff
  • No regulatory responsibility
