Viveca Y. Ware is group executive vice president, regulatory policy, for the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA). She oversees ICBA’s regulatory team on a broad portfolio of issues: consumer financial services, compliance, cybersecurity, data security, payments and technology, privacy, data research and analysis, the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering, and fair lending.
Ware has years of leadership in the banking industry and represents ICBA on the board of directors of Sheltered Harbor, LLC and fTLD Registry, LLC (the .BANK registry) and on the executive committee of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC). She received a Certificate of Appreciation for Distinction in Payments Management from the Department of the Treasury for improving the electronic distribution of federal payments.
Prior to joining ICBA, Ware held various progressive management positions at a community bank in southwestern Virginia, now part of BBT. Ware holds a BS in Finance and Insurance from Virginia Tech and is a graduate of the NACHA Payments Institute and the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management.
