Webinar: Strategy Development: Empowering Your ALCO (CD)
Recorded: March 11, 2014
Length: 60 Minutes
Community banks are still feeling the effects of continued margin pressure and uncertainty surrounding the future of interest rates, however, a well-informed ALCO focused on making decisions with the right information has far better odds of balancing current earnings needs with the challenges of preparing for the next change in the rate cycle.
This webinar will examine "real world" case studies on a variety of balance sheet management strategies that will make a meaningful difference to your institution's performance. Participants will discuss strategies to reduce rate exposure and examine current economic issues impacting strategy development. Asset liability management expert, Mark Haberland will address the importance of accurate data and, most critically, using supportable assumptions that reflect actual "real life" experiences of your institution.
Making quality risk/return assessments requires experience and knowledge of options and alternatives that might not have been considered or fully vetted. The process that ties it all together is at the very core of every high-performing ALCO.
