Statement on John Reich Nomination as OTS Director
Washington, D.C. (April 27, 2005) - Camden R. Fine, the president and CEO of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), issued the following statement today on the announcement by the White House that it intends to nominate John Reich as director of the Office of Thrift Supervision:
"During his tenure as FDIC Vice Chairman, John Reich has been a steadfast and passionate champion for regulatory burden relief. He knows firsthand the life-sapping effect regulatory burden has on community banks. The ICBA welcomes the opportunity to continue working with John in his new capacity as OTS director."
