ICBA Elects New Officers

San Antonio, Texas (March 10, 2005) — The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), the nation's largest banking trade association, today announced the elections of its new executive officers by the association's Board of Directors.

The elections took place at ICBA's National Convention and Techworld in San Antonio, Texas. David E. Hayes, current ICBA chairman-elect and president and CEO of Security Bank in Dyersburg, Tenn., assumes the position of chairman. Current ICBA chairman, Dale L. Leighty, chairman and president, First National Bank of Las Animas, Colo., will become ICBA’s immediate past chairman.

The ICBA’s other 2005-2006 officers are:

  • Chairman-elect – Terry J. Jorde, president/CEO, CountryBank USA, Cando, N.D.
  • Vice Chairman – James P. Ghiglieri Jr., president, Alpha Community Bank of Toluca, Ill.
  • Secretary – Robert C. Fricke, president, Farmers & Merchants National Bank, Ashland, Neb.
  • Treasurer – Ayden R. Lee Jr., president/CEO, Four Oaks Bank and Trust Co., Four Oaks, N.C.

These officers will serve on ICBA's Executive Committee until next year's convention. The Executive Committee implements the policies of the association’s Board of Directors.

The two bankers announced for director-at-large positions on ICBA’s Executive Committee are Everett Crawford, chairman and CEO, First National Bank of Artesia, N.M., and J. Lamar Roberts, president, First National Bank of Pasco, Dade City, Fla.
