ICBA Bancard’s Partnership Growth Program Provides First-Year Rewards
Orlando, Fla. (March 18, 2010)—ICBA Bancard, the payment-services subsidiary of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), today announced that ICBA Bancard Partnership Growth Program members received $710,000 during the program’s inaugural year.
“ICBA Bancard is pleased with the overwhelming success that the ICBA Bancard Partnership Growth Program has garnered over its inaugural year,” said John H. Buhrmaster, chairman of ICBA Bancard and president of 1st National Bank of Scotia, Scotia, N.Y. “Even during these challenging economic times, the Partnership Growth Program gives community bank members the opportunity to build and optimize their card operations for the benefit of their customers and communities throughout the nation.”
Nearly 600 ICBA Bancard client banks participate in the Partnership Growth Program. Credit card participants received nearly $250,000, while debit card participants received more than $450,000.
“This program’s aim is to help community banks build consumer awareness of the value of card usage as a form of payment, not to encourage more consumer debt,” said Linda Echard, president and CEO of ICBA Bancard. “ICBA Bancard is thrilled to make these funds available to our community bank Partnership Growth Program participants.
