ICBA Names Melvin as Vice President of Human Resources

Washington, D.C. (April 9, 2007)—The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) announced that Brenda Melvin has joined ICBA as vice president of human resources.

"ICBA is delighted to have Brenda join our team," said Patricia Hopkins, ICBA deputy chief financial officer. "Her outstanding experience and reputation will play an important role in helping ICBA continue to attract and retain talented and skilled people to deliver the highest quality services to our community bank members."

Melvin comes to ICBA with many years of operational and strategic human resources management experience. Her responsibilities have included recruitment and staffing, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits management, team leadership and management coaching.

She has held positions at several diverse organizations, including Heller Financial, FINOVA Capital, Watson Wyatt, Discovery Communications and most recently the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. Melvin holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Cornell University and a master's degree in human resources management from The New School for Social Research.
