ICBA Independent Banker Names Four Community Banks to Excellence in Advertising Showcase

How Marketing and Advertising Produces Business Results

Washington, D.C. (Sept. 5, 2008)—ICBA Independent Banker, the national magazine of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), featured four ICBA community bank members in its September Excellence in Advertising showcase.

"The marketing and advertising campaigns of these four banks are excellent examples of how community banks can use innovative and creative concepts and solid, consistent messaging to reach their customers and produce great business results," said Karen Tyson, ICBA senior vice president and director of communications.

A panel of advertising industry experts considered 14 marketing and advertising campaigns submitted by ICBA member community banks and chose four entries. These entries were chosen based on their creativity and how well they fulfilled their business objectives and produced measurable results. The selected banks also received high marks for the use of customer testimonials and targeted messaging to help connect with existing and future customers.

The four community banks featured in ICBA Independent Banker are:

  • The First National Bank of Jeffersonville in Jeffersonville, N.Y.
  • First Citizens National Bank in Mason City, Iowa
  • Dacotah Bank in Aberdeen, S.D.
  • First United Bank and Trust in Madisonville, Ky.

First Community Bank in Mobile, Ala., First Farmer's Bank and Trust in Converse, Ind. and Paragon Bank in Memphis, Tenn. are also featured in the magazine as honorable mentions for their advertising efforts.
